Cooper's Hawk Taxidermy by SthenaDrakaina Cooper's Hawk Taxidermy by SthenaDrakaina
This is my first taxidermy mount. It was done at and for a natural history museum, so it's all legit. Wood, wire, excelsior, cotton, glue, thread, and (of course) a Cooper's hawk. This particular hawk was injured and had to be put to sleep, despite the wildlife hospital's best efforts. He will be used at the museum for educational purposes only.

Whereabouts do you live (just in general)? The museum I volunteered at was in the CA Bay Area.

Northeast, south of Boston. There are quite a few museums where I live but most of them are looking for people who already have experience :(

Ah well sometimes you can still squeeze in for volunteer positions if you show a lot of drive and willingness to learn.

I would be proud if this was my first taxidermy mount. Alas... I've only done study skins so far (working with a university... so also legit :) Good job!
